Gutterman is excellent but don’t put down Coats and Clark . And Joanne’s does carry 500 yards spools. Sometimes all need is a small spool for a dress or top. I do shop locally but, Joanne’s can’t be beat when they have the$1.99 pattern sale.

I understand this video is 3 years old but I wanted to give my 2 cents. It's true that when you order online and have it shipped, it doesn't arrive when they say it will and finally realize that the order got stuck at the shipping office. I also ordered some Batik jelly rolls and paid for it but never received it. I didn't realize it until it was too late. What bothers me now is that they don't advertise the 4-big pattern company sales on their store flyer. Just yesterday I went in to pick up an order and saw that their Butterick and Vogue patterns were on sale. I was so frustrated because I didn't have my wish list and didn't have time to look at their books. I will, however, continue to shop there because I want to feel the fabrics. I don't buy quilt fabric anymore because they are so thin and not worth putting in a quilt. The employees are nice and courteous but not that knowledgeable about sewing or quilting. I have noticed there is less employees now and it's frustrating when I need to have fabric cut and long lines at the checkout.

You are so right about Joann quilting cotton. Also spot on about employees, and salary. I also worked at Joann. Years ago Joann had excelt fabrics for garment making and little crafting supplies. Another Joann problem: Michaels and Hobby Lobby. If Joann would ditch the crafts and go back to excellent fabric for garment making. I do order on line, but I want to see and touch the fabric I buy.

Do you cut your zipper tape 10” long and then fold the ends over or how do you know how long to cut it ?

Hi, Karen. So I guess you're in Florida and Joanne fabrics is not the same in all other states. The ones in our area have restrooms. Public restrooms, people that are cutting fabric are very knowledgeable. Karen, I'm sorry you're having problems in Florida.

I mean I’ve learned in eighth grade at Slauson middle school how to operate a sewing machine and how to cancel but I don’t remember house so I’m not very good at sewing if I do so it would probably be for my American girl dolls dolls

Let’s not even mention the fact of the machine crafty machines like cricket and brothers can cut machines I seen them sell at Joannes and they are so expensive. They are like almost $400 pricewise and then they have different sewing machines which I’m like that’s cool they do have kids likes you no stocking kits, sewing kits they have. A lot of variety for sewers for painters for Allied different artists, but the prices that they set for their inventory is just outrageous and the way they treat their employees is awful. Every time I go to Joannes I always tell the employees that they’re doing a great job. thank you for your hard work during the pandemic. I hope you get justice for you guys cause you deserve health benefits.

I don’t do quilting I mostly go to Joannes for like other things like my dad does pottery I’ll do friendship, bracelets, jewelry, like memory wire jewelry, just as a hobby to deal with my mental health if I do get fabric with my mom, it’s mostly to make a birthday banner or she does it for a tablecloth my dad uses stencils for pottery

My family and I are rewards members and we use their coupons

Let’s not even mention the fact of how they treat their employees. They don’t even give people their pensions. They’re hiring people who are fully retired there a work counsellor to people with disabilities, because when I was living in Michigan, I try to apply for a job at Joannes. I did great at the interview I was even picked because the second I told him I have a seizure disorder I asked for work accommodations. they have a problem with that and they’re like oh I don’t know if we can hire somebody like you that’s what the manager and store owner said to me in Michigan in the branch on Ann Arbour Saline Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan

NONE of these BIG CORPORATIONS really care about YOU. They rather CARE about YOUR MONEY- People who go to stores, bars or other business places in order to get PERSONAL ATTENTION- are very NAIVE in my opinion. Only GOD can give you real personal attention and love when You are faithful to Him.

For me Joann is about convenient it’s 2 blocks away so if I need one color floss I can run over there. Ez to return products too. Prices are high but low shipping. I don’t have time to look all over the internet and websites. Can’t afford quilt store prices

I could spend a whole day in there just looking around and feeling old fabrics and not able to decide what I want because they’re all so good.

Some areas have no choice but to shop places like JoAnns and HL. Quilt shops are few and far between in my area. I also, have issues ordering offline from quilt stores on etsy and other sites. I need to feel and see the fabric. So you do you and I will do me.

I understand why a lot of prices have gone up, but after Covid, an average yard of fabric went from $4 to $12.99. Someone has to be padding their pockets. Probably the CEO since they feel so entitled above everyone else.
